May 30th Arizona with The Parents

May 30th Arizona with The Parents - Tuzigoot and Jerome, Arizona
Hi All, Back again with some more pictures of ancient ruins and ghost towns. On May 29th, we made it a liazy day, just sitting at the pool and having a cook-out, so no pictures. But on May 30th, we started out again, to check out the Ruins at Tuzigoot and the Historical Ghost/Mining Town of Jerome. What follows are pictures during this day. Thanks for looking and see you at the next post.
This is the sign at the beginning of the trail. It is truly amazing - National Parks and Monuments that are paved so that all can see them, and these great signs that you can read and they do not need upkeep.
Here is a view from below of the Ruins at Tuzigoot. It is very impressive both far away and up-close.

Like I stated earlier, you can see the path. On one side is the ruins and on the other side is the Reclamation Site - where copper tailings had been put on the soil and now, they are cleaning it up by putting clean earth on top. The company (this land is not part of the National Monument) is doing this out of the goodness of their hearts, probably so that they do not get dinged by the government (and the EPA.) The earth will hopefully return to grassland/shrubs and other vegetation.
